My involvement

I was a ADVANCED CHARACTER RIGGER on this project. I was responsible for the various FACIAL ANIMATION PIPELINES, with a particular focus on RIGGING, TECHNICAL ART and TECHNICAL ANIMATION, based in Unreal Engine 5.

Assets included…

• “LEGOface”, a joint-based expressive shared facial animation asset for LEGO characters.
  • Used across the game on virtually every character, in cinematics and in-game.
• “FaceTex”, a sprite-sheet based shared facial animation asset. On this project, I extended this setup with UV transformation in animation.
  • Used across in-game enemies, NPCs and background characters.

Summary

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a brand-new open world action adventure videogame that invites players to embark on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City, inspired by decades of Batman films, television, comic books, and games, and jam-packed with Batman nostalgia, DC lore, and TT Games’ signature brand of fun-filled LEGO humor..¹

Accolades

I am utterly delighted by Legacy of the Dark Knight. Its story is charming and effective, its combat is engaging, and its open world is top-notch.
